Welcome to remote science with the Martin Lab! We wish that we could do these activities with you in person, but this is the next best thing. We are a lab of biophysical chemists: we study how biomolecules do their jobs, from proteins that enable our eye lenses to focus light, to enzymes that enable carnivorous plants to digest their food, to new antimicrobial peptides that could be used to develop new antibiotics. We use big, superconducting magnets to figure out what molecules look like and how they move. In order to do this, we need to know a lot about biology and physics, as well as chemistry. We hope you enjoy learning about them with us!
We have teamed up with Corona Public Library to help you explore science at home! The two available kits, Physics and Biology, come with step-by-step instructions for hands-on learning.
Please take the short, anonymous survey after participating to tell us about your experience!

We hope you have as much fun experimenting with these kits as we did designing and preparing them! We plan to do a live question and answer to discuss more about science in the future and we hope to “meet” you then!
